Just to check I generated a new App Password for the email account and used that. I manually entered it and Thunderbird claims it is an invalid password. Cookies were not blocked in the browser which made this more confusing, but I found a setting in Thunderbird about allowing cookies and after checking that the popup now asks for my email account password, which makes no sense since a valid App Password is already saved and was working just fine this morning. It worked perfectly 20 minutes ago pre-update.ĮTA: I was getting a popup saying that cookies were blocked for, with no explanation of why Thunderbird was attempting to open a browser connection in the first place. Its trying to force a connection through a browser. Apparently it did permanent damage to my profile. I downgraded back to 102 and it remains broken. Manjaro just updated my Thunderbird version from 102 to 115 and it hosed my connection to my outlook email. If you have any issues, report it to the devs. If you want to use it now, feel free to go to the website, download it, unpack the gzip and double-click the thunderbird file. Eventually it will filter though third-party repos then the distro repos. It will likely roll out through the internet package managers first (snap, flatpak, etc). It will take time to roll out to all distros. Pushing out such a major change and making sure there are no major bugs (not to mention training) also slows deployment. In addition, many companies use thunderbird as their main email/calendar program. This takes time to figure out and ensure it works. Some add their own branding/styling or bug/functionality patches (that may or may not be needed anymore). Some might want to dig through the code first to make sure there is nothing that may violate their policies (such as using non-free, controversial, law-or-patent-encumbered code). Package managers are gonna be extra cautious considering there are so many changes.
